Leaders Needed

Bayside is growing and pursuing ambitious programmes including mini, junior, womens and mens teams, academy training, community involvement such as adopt a shark and school coaching, building for the future targeting the construction of a community field house overlooking our home field as a centre for rugby and other user groups.

Bayside has a great group of people running and coordinating the club heading up the various sections, coaching, administrating, growing and selling our sport. Joining this group by actively taking up a position is a fantastic way of giving back to your community and building a legacy for the area and the members.

The following positions are coming available over the next few months and can be started on any time this summer :

For the main club:

Contact Jonathan Boughen - jbghn@yahoo.ca

President - Coordinate the activities of the club, set strategy with the directors of each section, populate the executive, represent the club to the community and outside bodies (BCRU, City of Surrey etc) 2-3 year commitment with assistance from ex-president.

Vice President - Back up President and take on special projects, possibly but not necessarily the next president.

Treasurer or Assistant Treasurer - business skills needed, ensure activities are properly budgeted and planned and accounts maintained. Our current treasurer will share the role as needed.

Merchandise Manager - Help each section with good buying and sales of merchandise, shirts, ties, umbrellas - you bring the ideas.

Social membership manager - Reach out to the broader community to manage and distribute $20 social membership cards, alumni, supporters etc - helping market the club and helping sponsors (member cards will have sponsor logos and special offers)

Game Day coordinator - For 12 home premier Saturdays ensure people are assigned for food / raffle / fundraising and activities at home field.

Media liaison - work with any and all media outlets to keep Bayside news getting out.

Sponsorship - Sponsors are always welcome, people needed to get involved in bringing on new and assisting current sponsors.

Members for the marketing committee - 4-5 people with sales / marketing / netowrking skills to take charge of marketing and raising awareness for the building of a new community fieldhouse to the Bayside and the broader community, encourage fundraisers and coordinate campaigns.

Members for the finance committee - 4-5 people with finance skills to run a capital campaign directed to the building of the new community fieldhouse, we have contacts with Canada Rugby Foundation that can help.
